Projects & Programs
Development projects and programs implemented by the Financial and Sectoral Affairs Department in partnership with the Government of Kenya and international development partners.
A six-year development project jointly financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Government of Kenya. RK-FINFA supports the transformation of the rural and smallholder agriculture sector through private sector-led development — improving access to financial services for smallholder farmers and rural micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) across 14 priority counties, with a nationwide rollout as the project matures.
A World Bank-supported project aimed at increasing access to financial services, enhancing capabilities, and supporting the post-COVID-19 recovery of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kenya. The project works by providing liquidity support to informal sector MSMEs, de-risking lending through the operationalisation of the Credit Guarantee Scheme, and strengthening the governance and resilience of the MSME finance ecosystem.
A five-year programme by the Government of Kenya, supported by the World Bank, DANIDA, SIDA and KfW, and implemented by the National Treasury through the Programme Implementation Unit (NTPIU) in partnership with all 47 County Governments through their County Climate Change Units (CCCUs). FLLoCA delivers locally-led climate resilience actions at ward level — empowering communities to plan, budget, implement and monitor their own climate solutions — while strengthening the capacity of county and national governments to manage climate risk.
